Most
pleasurable moment
Better not in case Tricia reads this!
Most
frightening moment
Late 1960s at East London Stadium playing under floodlights against
West Ham United youth team (a West London boy in East London
territory thinking he was going to be attacked by somebody with a
sawn-off shotgun!).
Most
exciting moment
Difficult! Seeing Dexter Gordon and Sonny Stitt live, and the Bees
getting promoted to Division One.
Hero

Most
irritating thing
People who spell ophthalmology (and accommodation)
incorrectly.
Greatest
ambition
To be a very good saxophone player (to get rid of my grey
hairs).
If
I won the Lotto
I would never have to worry about grants ever again.
Other
Interests
Apart
from playing sax in Out Of The Blue, I am a Macintosh fanatic and a
webaholic (probably an ebayaholic). A number of years ago I played
alto and tenor saxes in a band called The
Academics.

I keep fit by working
out and running about twice a week (Tricia makes me do half
marathons with her). I still have a strong interest in football and
when I was a student I played a reasonable standard of amateur
football. I represented London Schools and Southern Public Schools,
and was captain of my Medical School and United Hospitals (I even
played for a team called Athletico Neasden!).
