Two wins in a row as we beat Birmingham City 2-0 at St. Andrews
We got off to a slow start with Ryan Woods getting increasingly frustrated in the first half as he was being man marked. He was lucky to just get away with a booking for a foul on the edge of our penalty area. They had a fantastic shot just before half time that hit the post. Things changed in the second half when Neal Maupay came on for Lasse Vibe. As you know I don’t rate Maupay but he was brilliant with some mazy runs and shooting over the bar. Then in the 74th minute on another run into their box he was fouled. Ollie Watkins (who had another good game) stepped up to take the penalty and he hit it low to the keeper’s right and into the bottom of the net. Ten minutes later Maupay got his reward when a good attack down our left got a slightly lucky deflection and with some neat footwork inside the penalty area he scored our second. In the last minute of time added on, Daniel Bentley made a fantastic one-handed save from a header from a corner. We are now up to 15th in the Championship with 19 points.
