A well deserved victory and other bits of news
A very good performance by the boys to beat Stoke City 3-1 at home. It’s always difficult to play against a team that has just appointed a new manager as their players are out to impress him. Nevertheless, we played well and took an early lead through a ricochet own goal, then Benrahma added a second after a very good move. They pulled one back and we went in 2-1 up at half time. In the second half Rico Henry got a third (with his right foot). If it wasn’t for some good saves by their keeper and the woodwork we would have got more goals.
Also, Josh Clarke went on loan to Burton Albion (I think they need him after their 9-0 mauling by Man City), and we were drawn away to Barnet in the 4th Round of the FA Cup - the only non-league team left in the competition. I hope we do not get embarrassed on the 28th January. Also Bayern Munich 2 Brentford B 5 - a great result for our B team but you probably have guessed that it wasn’t Bayern’s first team they were playing.
