Lucky, lucky Brentford

A shambles of a performance sees us draw 3-3 away to Barnet (who are 3 yes THREE leagues below us) in the 4th Round of the FA Cup. Despite hitting the post twice in the first half we were awful giving the ball away the whole time. I was getting so angry I was shouting at the TV. Ollie Watkins scored late on in the first half and that was about the only time he had put a foot right. Early in the second half they scored two goals in quick succession and it wasn’t ‘Panic at the Disco’ but ‘Panic at the Back’. We got a very lucky break with a penalty after Ollie Watkins fell over himself in the penalty area and Neal Maupay equalised from the spot. Then the best move of the game saw Sergi Canos get what I hoped was going to be the winner. Unfortunately there was another twist and they scored direct from a free kick on the edge of the penalty area. It was never a free kick but that evened things up as we should never have had a penalty. We had a few chances towards the end and again hit the woodwork. We were lucky to escape with draw. The reply is at Griffin Park and the winners are away to Swansea in the 5th Round.
