Another defeat, but ...
I'm getting used to writing "another defeat". I was hopeful of a win despite Newcastle's recent improvement in form. We now have all players back from injury (although not all completely match fit but they were on the subs bench). Then after 11 minutes it all goes pear shaped as Dasilva get sent off. We then let in goals in the 33rd and 44th minute and go in at the break two-nil down. It would have been a mountain to climb in the second half to even get a point. Despite Eriksen coming on to make his first appearance since his on-pitch cardiac arrest at the Euros 8 months ago, the game ended 2-0. There are really no buts as Burnley (like Newcastle) are on a good run and Watford drew. At least Leeds lost but at the moment Everton are holding their own against Man City (update - phew, Everton lost). This was a must win game and so are the next two, away to Norwich and then at home to Burnley.
