First PL game of the new season and a great comeback to draw 2-2 away to Leicester City
I don’t usually predict Brentford scores but I was convinced this morning the game would end 2-2. We had a poor start and Leicester were the better team in the first half. They opened the scoring in the 33rd minute with a near post header from a corner, then later hit the post. I realised that I hadn’t used my ‘lucky’ Brentford mug so at half time used it to have a coffee. Within a minute of the restart it turned into my ‘unlucky’ Brentford mug as they made it 2-0 with a good long range effort. We plugged away and in the 62nd minute Toney got a goal back from close range then we had a few more chances and in the 86th minute we got the equaliser from a great left foot strike from Dasilva and the game ended 2-2 as I had predicted. I'm very happy with a point and next Saturday we are at home to Man U who were pretty poor today but I’m sure they won’t be next week. It’s odd but I would rather get a point from each of the first two games rather than than lose one and win one and get three points (four points would be even better!).
