Hit the woodwork twice, two possible pens but we still lost

We go down 1-0 to Birmingham City at St. Andrews in the first game of the 2020/21 Sky Bet Championship. Although fielding a full-strength team except for Raya out injured and Benrahma ‘rested’ prior to an imminent move away we were not competitive enough in the first half. We don’t play well against teams who are good at pressing us and Birmingham’s new manager knew that. We certainly had some good chances in the first half and Dasilva hit the post but they scored the only goal of the game in the 37th minute; a near post header from a corner. Both teams had chances in the first half but I felt Birmingham were the more aggressive team. We were better in the second half and Canos hit the bar and had two shouts for a penalty turned down but we just couldn't score and lost 1-0.
