We avoid 5 defeats in a row with a 3-3 draw at Newcastle
With Newcastle wanting to do well under their new manager, we again didn’t make a great start and let in an easy header to go 1-0 down after only 10 minutes. Fortunately, Toney scores an equaliser a minute later that their keeper should have saved. We take the lead in the 31st minute with a great cross from Canos and an excellent finish by Henry. Six minutes later they are level. Also in the first half Toney has the ball in the net again only to be judged to be offside (very similar to the home game against Liverpool). In the second half we restored our lead in the 61st minute with an Onyeka shot that was deflected in. They make it 3-3 in the 75th minute and nearly win it right at the end. I’ll settle for a point but with Watford, Villa and Norwich all winning, the gap between us and the teams at the bottom of the league is narrowing.
