We smash Wycombe Wanderers 7-2 at home! Toney hits hat-trick

Updated: Feb 1

Despite Wycombe losing in the 4th Round of the FA Cup to Premier League opposition Spurs, I expected this to be a challenging game. Wycombe played very well against Spurs and did not look like a team at the bottom of the Championship. The first half was a good contest with us twice taking the lead then being pegged back and possibly lucky going in at the interval at 2-2. Our first half scorers being Pinnock and Toney in the 9th and 41st minutes. In the second half we retook the lead in the 50th minute with a goal from Fosu-Henry, then a Toney penalty in the 56th minute would have been enough to get us the three points. But we were greedy and Canos (81st minute), Toney’s hat-trick (86th minute) and Dasilva (89th minute) made it seven.

Premier Leagues fixtures announced

First 5 games: Arsenal (H), Crystal Palace (A), Aston Villa (A), Brighton (H), Wolves (A). So that’s 15 points in the bag and only another 25 to get over the following 33 games to ensure survival.
