We hammer the Hammers 0-2 at their place

The PL returns after the international break with the Bees having a must win game away to West Ham United. "Must win, but it's still October?" I hear you cry - yes we desperately need more points at this stage of the season. West Ham will be out to impress their new manager and in the first 10 minutes they looked like they were going to overrun us, then for the rest of the game we were the only team in it. How we didn't get a cricket score, no one knows. Over the whole game we had 2,584 shots (OK, it was 22 but seemed a lot more). We had so many chances, and hit the bar twice (how did Schade miss with his header in the second half?) I thought we would never score, but in the 43rd minute a through ball found Schade who didn't completely control it that well but managed to lay it off to Thiago. His shot was saved by their keeper but somehow deflected into the corner of the net. As we went into 6 minutes of added on time in the first half West Ham had a rare attack and Kelleher saved well from Bowen. I was praying for the whistle to blow but about 30 seconds after the 6 minutes had been played, Damsgaard played the ball into Thiago who dinked it over the keeper to make it 0-2. I was delighted the ref hadn't blown for half time, but the goal was disallowed as Thiago had been offside by a toenail in the build up to the goal. As the second half went on we seemed in control but I always felt that the Hammers would get a scrappy equaliser then the crowd would spur them on to a win, deja vu with the Sunderland away game. However, we stayed firm and resolute and deservedly scored a second in the 90+4 minute after a long clearance by Kelleher found Lewis-Potter on the right who pulled it back for Jensen to smash it into the net. We get the three points and keep a clean sheet.
