I was really hoping that we would end the season on a high and that Ivan Toney in his last game for us would score a hat trick. It started so well with Toney scoring from a Mbeumo cross in the second minute only for VAR to diasallow it for Mbeumo being offside. Then Newcastle scored three and it was 0-3 at half time. Soon after the break we got one back from Janelt, then another from Wissa (yet another great Wissa strike) but then they got their fourth and the game ended 2-4. I am concerned about next season with Toney sure to leave and his replacement Thiago sustaining a knee injury last week that could keep him sidelined for a considerable period of time.
