TF's first visit back to the Gtech sees us play out an unexciting 0-0 draw, with us probably just the better team. The 'experts' on the Griffin Park Grapevine had correctly predicted a draw and I think I am happy with a point. Once I knew Romero and van der Ven were playing , I didn't expect we would get much from the game. We did get the ball in the net in the first half. From a Janelt corner (that had resulted from a great long throw by Kayode), a Collins' header was pushed out by Vicario and Schade slammed it home. Unfortunately, Schade was well offside. Then Gray had a header that we blocked. Then after a great long through ball by Lewis-Potter to Schade we had a few attempts to get a shot away but never troubled Vicario. Into the second half and we give the ball away but fortunately Kudus shoots just over the bar. Then we had what was our best chance to score. A long clearance by Kelleher sees great interplay between Schade and Thiago that sets Yarmo free on the left. His cross is straight to KLP, who unfortunately fluffs his shot. Then the two controversial incidents of the game. Firstly, a through ball sees Thaigo run just clear of Romero with no other defenders around him. Romero takes a mighty swing at the ball and misses and Thiago fall over his body. KA is adament it should have been a red card but VAR says no foul! I'm on the the fence. The second incicent involved Gray, who runs into our box with the ball and tries to squeeze between two Bees' players (mainly Schade) and goes over. VAR says no foul and if given would have been a very soft pen. Then from a cross by KLP a Janelt header was easily pushed out by Vicario. Our final chance was a great run from Kayode into the box and he beat Spence and pulled it back from the byline. It was met by Thiago who ... ballooned it over the bar.
