This was another must win game, even though Everton and Luton had lost in the afternoon, Forest had drawn. The way we played and the chances we had, we could have won 6-1, and yet what happened in the 90+6 minute meant that we were relieved just to get a point. We had 31 shots, 80+ touches inside their penalty area (the most of any PL game this season) and hit the woodwork four times - Toney and Zanka in the first half then Wissa and Mbeumo in the second half. Their keeper also made a couple of good saves. Toney had a goal disallowed for offside in the second half. Despite the pressure and chances, everything went pear-shaped in the 96th minute when against the run of play, they scored. We had a couple of opportunities to clear the ball but were very tired after all the effort we had put in. It was heartbreaking as we were far the better team and desperately needed the points. Then three minutes later (with possibly the help of divine intervention), Toney puled the ball back for Ajer to slot home the equaliser. Up to their goal it seemed it was two points lost, but at the end perhaps one point gained? We must beat Brighton at home on Wednesday, as we cannot keep relying on the teams below us losing.
