A home defeat to Spurs in a game that we really should have won

A game we should have won against an injury-hit Spurs team with dreadful recent PL form. Overall, we had much more possession, more attacking play and more half-chances yet no goals to show for it. Our downfall was (a) always trying to cross the ball into their penalty area (probably at least 30 crosses during the game) instead of one-twos or pulling it back from the byline, and (b) two goalkeeping mistakes by reserve keeper Valdimarsson who was in for the injured Flekken. In the 29th minute, from a Spurs corner, Valdimarsson flapped at it and the ball went in off Janelt's back who was standing in front of of him for an own-goal. In the second half Wissa had a glorious and easy chance that he put over the bar and at the end we had a shot cleared off the line, but no real clear chances. Spurs second goal was the only shot they had in the second half with the ball going through Valdimarsson's legs but he should never have come off his line in the first place. Mbeumo had a quiet game because Spence stopped him from playing. We should have won, but definitely we should not have lost and I would have been happy with a point. Incidentally, our substitute keeper is one of the B-team keepers because we have sent our other two first team squad keepers out on loan!
