An exciting end-to-end game almost ruined by one man

I predicted a 2-2 draw away to the Villans and I was correct. 34 shots in total (20 Villa, 14 Bees), some great saves by both keepers, deflected goals, wingeing Villa players (McGinn and Cash) spoilt by some awful refereeing from Craig Pawson. Fouls given that were not fouls, and obvious fouls not given. Buendia allegedly fouled by Thiago was treated on the pitch for several minutes yet he wasn't told to go to the touchline after he had recovered. All these refereeing decisions antagonised both sets of fans and made tempers fray amongst the players. Cash blatantly elbowed Schade in the chest yet it was missed by both ref and assistant ref (probably Cash getting his revenge for the match at Villa Park last season when Schade kicked Cash in the bollocks and got sent off). Anyway, four goals and plenty of chances at both ends. Yarmo opened the scoring for us in the 10th minute. He is now on a scoring spree having scored two goals this season bringing his total goals scored for the Bees to ... two. A couple minutes later some not great defending and a deflection saw Jackson equalise. In last minute of five added on minutes in the first half, Kelleher poorly parried a shot but could only push it into the path of McGinn (how he didn't get booked during the game no one knows), and it was a certain goal but Kelleher somehow saved it, making amends for his previous save.

Villa started well in the second half and did much more pressing with their front two posing a threat. Schuster was substitued at half time and replaced by Hickey at centre back. To me this was an odd decision by KA as Hickey is a full back and van den Berg was on the subs bench returning from injury. Villa took the lead, a deflected shot from McGinn. Two minutes later we were level through Ajer after some nice interpassing in their area. At the end both sides had good chances to win it, but the match ended 2-2. We are still unbeaten this season.
