Brentford 'reserves' 1 Aston Villa 2

Wirth 7 players out injured (Mbeumo for 12 weeks) and 1 suspended and Villa on the crest of a wave, we should have been thumped but only lose by the odd goal. After four very early Villa corners, we probably were the better team and we take the lead in the 45th minute with Lewis-Potter's first goal for the club. The second half is highly eventful with inconsistent refereeing decisions, controverisal pernalty decisions, numerous yellow cards then in the 71st minute Mee gets sent off following a VAR check. There have been similar poor tackles in the last few weeks in the PL that have either gone unpunished or only a yellow card. We need consistency. Down to 10-men nobody picks up Moreno at the back post who equalises with a header in the 75th minute. Then in the 85th minute nobody picks up Watkins who heads home their winner. Konsa then nearly scores a long range own goal and that results in a spat between Maupay and Martinez (two of the PL's most childish players) and that spills over with Kamara getting a red card in the 90+7 minute and both managers getting booked. It would have been a lot easier to take if Villa had played us off the park and won 0-3.
