Poor defending sees us exit the Carabao Cup at the 4th Round stage.

A tough match away to Sunderland, even though they made eleven changes. We started really well with Thiago shooting wide, then in the same move hitting the post and bar, before Sangare's great effort was brilliantly tipped over the bar by their keeper. Then a string of defensive errors with the keeper and Diouf the main culprits sees Sunderland race into a 3-0 lead. Before the break Wilson pulled one back, then was denied by their keeper for his second.

In the second half we had a series of chances and Thiago had a header cleared off the line. In added on time, Thiago made it 3-2 but there wasn't enough time to get an equaliser.
