We leave it late to beat Burnley and get all three points at the Gtech

A definite must win match as Burnley are below us in the table, and we need to distance oursleves as much as possible from the relegation zone. In the first half there were chances for Collins, Thiago and Damsgaard with Kelleher having to pull off one good save. We went in at half time all square at 0-0. In the second half we started brightly and we had a few chances, but in the 77th minute a great through ball from Damsgaard played in Ouattara who was fouled in the area and yet another penalty for us. Thiago (who I stated in my last post I was not confident in his penalty taking technique, at least Toney had enough power in his pens to score even if the keeper went the correct way) had the guts to step up and take it. He sent their keeper the wrong way and rolled it into the net for a 1-0 lead and now (after a lengthy VAR check) we were in the 81st minute. I had hoped that would be the final score but three minutes after the restart Kayode gave away a pen and they scored to make it 1-1. Almost immediately we were back in front. Henderson whipped a cross towards the back post, which Burnley failed to clear, and Thiago was in the right place at the right time to fire into the roof of the net. Yet having given away very late goals in several matches this season I wasn't confident of the three points until Ouattara sealed the win in the second minute of stoppage-time. Slipped through by Henderson, he outmuscled a defender, leaving his marker on the ground, before finding the net with a clinical finish and game ended 3-1. Next match, away to Arsenal on Wednesday!
