We scrape through against Newport County in the 2nd Round of the Carabao Cup with Balcombe the hero

On paper a PL club vs League 2 club (even at their place) should be a no-brainer, but we only just made it through to the next round. Although we made 9 changes from the team that played against Crystal Palace last Saturday (with 23-yr-old keeper Balcombe making his debut, who has been with the club since he was 8 years!) and we had had more possession and shots, it was 0-0 at half time. We go ahead in the 87th minute with a close range header from Jensen, but let in a headed equaliser in the 6th minute of added on time. The match goes to pens and Balcombe saves two of them and we go through 0-3 on pens - phew!
