With Norgaard back, even though Hickey, Henry, Schade, Mbeumo all out injured, Ghoddos at the Asian Cup and Wissa and Onyeka at AFCON), I was slightly hopeful of getting an away point. Spurs started well but a great breakaway in the 12th minute saw Roerslev score only for it to be disallowed for Jensen being offside earlier in the move. Three minutes later Toney was bearing down on goal with only the keeper to beat, the keeper saved but parried it to Maupay who scored. Maupay was back to his usual tricks (the term is commonly known as sh*thousery) trying to wind up Romero and get him sent off, but unfortunately it didn't work. Spurs had a few opportunities to score in the first half and there was something that the Bees fans have not seen all season - Flekken diving to save a shot (usually he just stands there and watches the ball go in the net). Unfortunately, at the start of the second half there were 8 crazy minutes and a combination of poor defending and deflections sees Spurs score three goals. Toney gets one back (but should have scored another) and Baptiste had a chance right at the end to equalise. We end up losing 3-2. Apart from those 8 second half minutes we deserved a draw. Thank goodness Nottingham Forest, Sheffield Utd and Burnley all lost. Nice easy fixture coming up next - home to Man City on Monday!
We almost get a point at Spurs
